Contracts Administrator – Residential and Commercial Drywall

My client is a long-standing local drywall company specializing in both Commercial and Residential markets.  Scopes of work include: Steel Stud Framing, Insulation, Drywall, Taping, Textured and Acoustic Ceilings.  Contracts can range from under $5000.00 up to $2 Million plus and include both new construction starts as well as renovations.  

We are currently looking for a Contracts Administrator who is very well versed in all things Drywall!  The Contracts Administrator will assist in the preparation, review, and administration of contractual proposals relating to drywall construction projects.



  • Process all Awarded Drywall Agreements into company contract database, including contract revisions, change orders, PO’s and credit memo’s
  • Review all Drywall contracts and purchase orders
  • Creating and updating various reports as required
  • Assisting in resolving any invoicing issues with operations and the customers
  • Administer and maintain original contract files per guidelines
  • Perform non-routine contract activity that may require development of specialized contract and techniques to accomplish business goals and objectives
  • Exercise independent judgment and analysis of significant issue identification and resolution
  • Apply knowledge of contracting concepts, and follow and enforce company and client requirements
  • Ability to interpret construction schedules
  • Work closely with the accounting department
  • You can tell what is required for a job based on your knowledge of the jobsite. If it is metal studs, you know which screws to use.  You have a knack for this


Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:


  • 5+ years contract-related experience in the drywall industry.
  • Working to expert knowledge of contracting concepts and company and client requirements
  • Professional, self-motivated, well-organized and detail-oriented with the flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including complex MS Excel spreadsheets with formulas and MS Word
  • Proficient in Sage 50 software
  • Excellent writing and people skills
  • Strong math, analytical and organizational skills
  • Coordinate documentation to support modifications to construction plans and directs the contractor as required
  • Assist design and technical staff with constructability reviews and feedback


Must have previous experience with


  • order management;
  • logistical coordination;
  • transferring information from order to data entry;
  • Prepare project specific daily field report spreadsheet with budget and purchase order information
  • Communicate with vendors/contractors as required
  • Monthly reporting of construction man-hours
  • Must have advanced knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building code, current industry standards, construction law, and building science specifically relating to Drywall
  • Has post-secondary education in Building or Architectural Technology. CAD training is an asset
  • CCCA –Certified Construction Contract Administration and/or LEED AP-LEED certification is an asset
